My Story
Kia ora, I’m Te Aorere.
I’m a Māori content creator, storyteller and travel enthusiast from Ruatoki, a small rural community in the heart of Tūhoe.
Te Aorere Creative was born from a simple belief: if you can see it, you can be it.
Growing up in a rural Māori community, I didn’t often see people who looked like me represented in the spaces I aspired to be in. Today, through storytelling, travel and content creation, I hope to be part of changing that.
What started as a way to document my travels and everyday experiences has grown into a platform dedicated to travel, culture, connection and authentic storytelling. Along the way, I’ve built a community of people from Aotearoa and around the world who value genuine experiences and meaningful conversations.
For me, visibility matters.
I want our Māori and Pasifika rangatahi to know that their dreams are valid, that their culture is a strength, and that they belong in every room, every industry and every space they aspire to be in.
Whether that’s through travel, business, leadership, content creation or simply showing up unapologetically as themselves.
Through my platform, I am passionate about helping to normalise Māori presence in spaces where we have historically been underrepresented, supporting the revitalisation of Te Reo Māori, and sharing stories that celebrate who we are as a people.
Every piece of content I create is guided by the values of connection, authenticity and manaakitanga.
Today, I partner with brands, tourism operators and organisations to create meaningful content that inspires people to explore, connect and see the world through a different lens.
Because at the end of the day, this has never just been about travel.
It’s about showing the next generation that where you come from does not determine where you can go.
If you can dream it, you can become it. If you can see it, you can be it.
“He aha te mea nui o te ao? He tāngata, he tāngata, he tāngata.”
What is the most important thing in the world? It is people, it is people, it is people.
Ngā mihi nui,
Te Aorere Redmond
